Designing and Building a Custom Cafe Racer
Ongoing project currently on back burner.
As of now, the motorcycle has been totally disassembled, and had all seals, gaskets, and O-rings replaced. The frame was cut and had a rear hoop welded to it to add stiffness. The engine has been rebuilt with new piston rings. New aluminum wheels were laced on to stainless steel spokes, and finished with a new performance tire. An entirely new electronics system, making use of a Motogadget M-Unit, is being wired. The frame was stripped and powder coated, the tank and headlight bucket were stripped and painted. New bearings have been pressed into the wheel hubs and swingarm. New shocks were fit on the rear, and the front was outfitted with new seals and fluid. The front brakes have been outfitted with a new piston and seals, and the rotor was drilled to add lightness.
I need to finish setting up the bikes electrical system.
